The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, MP. has announced that the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) will commit GHC 50 million each year to support disability and inclusive education across the country.
Hon. Iddrisu after a brief consultation with H.E. the President John Dramani Mahama and the GETFund Administrator Mr. Paul Adjei made this known at the launch of the Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities in Accra on Friday October 24, 2025.

He added that the initiative forms part of President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to ensure equality, inclusivity, and access to quality education for all, especially persons with disabilities.
The Hon. Education Minister further added that the GETFund’s GHC 50 million allocation starts from now until 2028 and will be directed towards financing disability-related interventions and inclusive education programs.
Mr. Paul Adjei who earlier pledged the commitment of the Fund in collaborating with the Students Loan Trust Fund emphasized the relevance of the support.
The Minister lauded the GETFund Administrator and the Ministry’s team for their commitment towards inclusive education and ensuring that disability does not exclude any Ghanaian child from receiving education to the best of their academic pursuits.
