The Deputy Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) Hon. Sualihu Dandaawa has paid an emergency working visit to the Northern Business Senior High School (NOBISCO) and Tolon SHS following devastating fire outbreaks that have displaced over one thousand female students.
The incidents, which occurred on January 28 at NOBISCO and February 2 at Tolon SHS, resulted in the displacement of 900 and 173 students respectively. Beyond the structural damage, the affected students lost nearly all their personal belongings, leaving many traumatised and in urgent need of support.

During his visit on behalf of the Administrator, Mr. Paul Adjei, Hon. Dandaawa expressed his deepest sympathies to the management, staff, and students of both institutions, and underscored GETFund’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that the educational journey of these young ladies is not derailed by such tragedy.
To ensure a rapid recovery, the Deputy Administrator issued a directive to the Head of the Northern Zone to expedite a comprehensive technical assessment of the damage.

”Our priority is to restore normalcy. We are working around the clock to ensure repairs begin at the earliest possible time so that these students can return to decent dormitories and focus on their studies,” the Deputy Administrator stated.
GETFund remains dedicated to its core mandate of providing the necessary infrastructure to facilitate smooth teaching and learning across Ghana. By fast-tracking these repairs, the Fund seeks to mitigate the disruption caused by these outbreaks and provide a safe, and conducive environment for the affected students.
