For Foreign Universities :

  • Accredited and Globally Recognised Universities .

 

For Local Universities :

  • All Local Universities accredited by Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to run Post Graduate courses.
  • No. All scholarship applicants are required to have a valid Admission letter from a local university.  
  • The basic eligibility requirement is for an applicant to be a Ghanaian Citizen followed by all other requirements as stated on the Scholarship application portal.
  • All Correspondences will be done exclusively between the GETFund and The Scholarship Applicant

 

  • All submissions will be received through the scholarship web application portal only for processing

  • For Programme with more done  1 year academic Activities Yes, you can, but the sponsorship will take effect from the year of application.
  • What are the required documents for the scholarship application?
    Required documents include a valid admission letter, academic transcripts, a national ID, and any other documents specified on the application portal.

  • Can non-Ghanaian citizens apply for the GETFund scholarship?
    No. The scholarship is only available to Ghanaian citizens.

  • Is there an age limit for applicants?
    There is no specific age limit, but applicants must meet the eligibility requirements as stated on the scholarship application portal.

 

  • Yes. You can apply, but you cannot hold two (2) scholarship or more from Ghana Government Agencies. 
  • How do I access the scholarship application portal? You can access the portal by visiting www.getfund.gov.gh/scholarship-apply.

  • Can I save my application progress and complete it later?
    Yes, the portal allows you to save your progress and return to complete your application before the deadline.

  • What should I do if I encounter technical issues with the application portal?
    If you encounter technical issues, please contact the support team via the contact details provided on the portal.

  • Can I edit my application after submission?
    No, once your application is submitted, you cannot make changes. Ensure all information is accurate before submitting.

  • How are applicants selected for the scholarship?
    Applications are vetted and shortlisted based on eligibility and completeness of the documentation. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for further processes.

  • When will I be notified if I am shortlisted?
    Shortlisted applicants will be notified after the vetting process is completed. The specific timeline will be communicated via the portal and email.

  • What happens if I am not shortlisted?
    If you are not shortlisted, you will receive a notification via email. You may reapply in the following application cycle if eligible.

  • Poor Academic Performance
  • Not Providing Required documentation for application (Admission letter & Financial Details)
  • Uploading of invisible or unclear documents
  • Not completing application process before deadline date
  • Providing false or misleading information when filling out your scholarship application form
  • Multiple Application by applicant is an instant disqualification
  • Applicant should not be a previous beneficiary of a GETFund Scholarship and applying for same scholarship category (Masters or PhD)
  • What does the scholarship cover?

    For Local Scholarship : The scholarship covers tuition Fees Only 

    For Foreign Scholarship : The scholarship typically covers tuition, accommodation, and sometimes a stipend for living expenses. Specific details of partial or full scholarship will be provided upon award.

  • Can the scholarship be deferred to the next academic year? No, the scholarship must be used for the academic year it is awarded.

  • What is the duration of the scholarship? The scholarship is valid for the duration of the postgraduate program as specified in the admission letter, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
