On Wednesday, 16th July 2025, the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) hosted a delegation from Voorhees University, South Carolina, USA, at its headquarters. The visit formed part of the university’s week-long working tour in Ghana, following an MoU signed with Accra College of Education under the facilitation of Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, MP for Ablekuma South.

Voorhees University expressed interest in signing a direct Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GETFund to promote further studies, professional development, and joint academic initiatives for mutual benefit.

GETFund Administrator, Mr. Paul Adjei, was upbeat about the prospect of having a mutually beneficial partnership with the Pro-Pan African University. He proposed discounted tuition fees for students through flexible semester-based payment arrangements, especially at the postgraduate level.

Mrs. Phillida Lamptey, Head of Scholarships at GETFund, urged the university to submit a formal proposal in line with GETFund’s mandate.

Dr. Ronnie Hopkins, President of Voorhees University, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to transparency and long-term collaboration. Prof. Samuel A. Atintono, Principal of Accra College of Education, highlighted the potential of the partnership to advance academic excellence and international exposure.

The engagement underscored the value of international academic cooperation and the pivotal role of GETFund in supporting educational advancement.
